LVX   
LVX (Light Visually X-Transceiving). “X” in wireless and data communication means transceiving. LUX is Latin for “light” and LVX is the ancient Latin word for “light”.

LVX System   
The LVX System is a lighting and data communication system that utilizes LVX technology installed and commissioned to provide LVX Services.

LVX System is the managing company among the LVX system of companies. LVX System provides branding, technology and management services but does not own the LVX state companies. None of the LVX companies are subsidiary corporations.

Transceiving (or X)   
The ability to simultaneously Transmit (T) and Receive (R) digital data signals. “X-mit”

Transceiver   
A communication device that is either built in or connected to an electronic device, appliance or machine that have simultaneous transmit and receive capability such as a computer, cell phone or WLAN.

LVX Transceiver   
A transceiver equipped with patented LVX technology giving it the capability to transceive data wirelessly through visible light communication.

Hosting Customer   
A Customer that signed an agreement to install and utilize LVX Lighting and Communication Services within a geographic area. Upon signing this document the Customer becomes a Hosting Customer.

Hosting Service
This is a foundational service provided by LVX Minnesota to the Hosting Customer that provides basic services such as basic illumination, basic maintenance and LVX communication capabilities.

Host Device
A device, in most cases an LVX Light that is connected to the Hosting Customer’s LAN, WLAN and/or the Internet that has the ability to connect through LVX to a Client Device.

Client Customer
An individual, company or institution set up with an account at an LVX state service company to access and utilize LVX Services through Hosting Customers.

Client Service
LVX state service companies will provide an ever-expanding suite of personal and professional services available through Hosting Customers such as Internet connectivity, secure wireless networking, lighting control, etc.

Client Device   
A device such as a computer equipped with a USB/ether type plug-in or built-in LVX Transceiver that is capable of accessing the LVX Hosting Infrastructure. 

IBEW
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – Union labor (normally found within the LVX system of service companies subcontract labor and LVX Western)
